Coastline and Just The JobIf you think a practical outdoors career in different locations could suit you, then road marking is such a job. Ashley gets her chance to see what's involved and finds out that painting on roadways and car parks take a little practice. The road marking team is also responsible for laying the cat's eye devices on our roads that help provide a road guide in wet conditions and are an added safety measure. Plus, the new innovation of 'cold applied plastic' that create the rumble strips on the edges of our roads to keep drivers alert are another part of the job for the road marking crew. Since applying the first marking in 2008 we have had fantastic feedback from the public and the Police. Coastlines latest innovation is set to take the country by storm. That’s right, linemarking that stands up and says…READ ME... This innovation has come about as a result of a partnership between Coastline and Carnegie Sports Marketing. Carnegie Sports Marketing apply the 3D makings to the televised Rugby, League and Cricket grounds. Our 3D markings are an extension of that technology, and it works just as well off the field. We now have a templates (in 6 pieces as the 50 is 14 metres long) to install various markings. As you can see from the photos, this looks better than the conventional markings.The site is a world first and is being championed by Rodney District Council Safety Engineer Gareth Hughes Look out for some more, coming to a neighbourhood near you. ![]() Coastline has developed 3D Traffic Management PlansThese plans can be used to really show your client what the traffic management looks like from the drivers perspective.
